The seaside town of Cap d'Agde
in the South of France lies on the Mediterranean
coast between Marseille and the Spanish border.
The town has no high-rise buildings
but offers various architectural styles with
an array of colored houses which portray a picture
postcard scene. All this is built around a harbor
where ready for the seas.
Cap d'Agde has unbelievable
golden beaches where you can enjoy bathing and
swimming in the striking clear waters of the
Mediterranean. Above all Cap d'Agde offers
you a number of various sporting possibilities
such as surfing, sailing, water-skiing, parasailing,
fishing, diving, golf and not to forget an enormous
tennis park with inside and outside courts.
The resort is known for its wide
promenade where you can enjoy a leisurely walk.
Cars are not allowed so pedestrians can enjoy
a stroll along the many boutiques and terraces
where you can sit down and enjoy a glass of
wine and the view over the marina. There are
many "petit" restaurants on the beaches where
you can savor the delights of excellent French
cuisine while watching the rays of the moon
dance on the water.
Around Cap d'Agde you will find
a few historical cities which are worthwhile
visiting. One of the oldest is Agde located
approximately 4 km away. Once occupied by the
Greeks.
Not very far from Cap d'Agde,
about 20 km, you will find the fishing town
of Sete which is one of the most important ports
of the Mediterranean. Its mountain range "Mont
Saint Loup" can be viewed in the distance and
office a fantastic view over this region.
Also around 20 km. from Cap d'Agde you will find the old town of Beziers with
its old cathedral and old arena in which, still
to this day, bullfights are held. A visit to
the nine locks of the "Canal du Midi" is also
